About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Children in Care team in North Essex. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to children and young people up to the age of 18 who are in care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visiting children and young people in placement to ensure their experience in care is positive
  • Developing permanency plans, including Special Guardianship Orders and adoption
  • Supporting children and young people to understand their life story and reasons for being in care
  • Working with birth families to support reunification where possible

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker
  • Ability to demonstrate capability in practice, following current professional standards
  • Proficiency in using tools like Word and social work case recording systems
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary
