Indirect Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Management Specialist to join our team at MKM Building Supplies. As an Indirect Category Manager - Plumbing and Heating, you will play a key role in driving the success of our Plumbing and Heating category across our branch network.
Key Responsibilities- Category Performance Management: Monitor and analyze category performance, identifying opportunities for growth, efficiency, and increased profitability.
- Supplier Management and Negotiation: Negotiate favorable trading agreements with suppliers, securing rebates and exclusive deals.
- Product Knowledge and Training: Provide training and guidance to branch teams on product knowledge, market dynamics, and new technologies.
- Market Analysis and Insights: Conduct market research and analysis to inform product offerings and promotional strategies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with branches, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless category management.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on key metrics, including sales, margins, and stock levels.
- Proven experience in category management, preferably in the Plumbing and Heating sector or related industries.
- Strong commercial sense with a history of delivering profitable growth.
- Experience in supplier negotiation and relationship management.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting data to make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP or procurement systems.
