About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Library Assistant to join our team at the University of the Arts London (UAL). As a key member of our Collections team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality library services to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors, responding to enquiries in person and online.
  • Assist users with directional and initial information enquiries, including the use of the library catalogue and electronic resources.
  • Participate in front-line services and administrative duties, including helping users with self-issue systems, IT, and printing.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the library's collections, including re-shelving and related activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.

About You

We are looking for someone with a compassionate and student-centred approach, who is able to work effectively in a team environment. You should have relevant library or customer service experience, and formal training to post-16 level. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential, as well as the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
