About the Role

The University of London is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to join our team. As a Library Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the organization and accessibility of our library collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shelving and tidying in assigned areas as required
  • Answering basic enquiries from library users, including directing users to stock or around the library
  • Assisting in moving loaded trolleys to the appropriate areas
  • Labeling new acquisitions and participating in certain aspects of ongoing conservation activities and promotion of library collections
  • Assisting on library desk duties and other areas as they arise

Requirements

  • Attention to detail and ability to learn the complexities of library classification schemes
  • Pleasant and helpful manner when dealing with users of the library and good communication skills
  • Ability to learn to use library software

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time role, working 17.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule to coordinate with the other library assistant's timetable.
