Job Title: Library Assistant

We are seeking a part-time Library Assistant to join our team at Senate House Library, the central library for the University of London. As a member of our Shelving Team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the library's collections and providing excellent customer service to our users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shelving and tidying across the library as required
  • Assisting in moving loaded trolleys to the appropriate areas
  • Supporting general print collection management activities
  • Handling basic enquiries around the library
  • Assisting the Customer Services team in delivering customer-facing services to Senate House Library users

Requirements:

  • Methodical approach to work with excellent attention to detail
  • Approachable, friendly, and helpful manner in assisting library users
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team

Working Arrangements:

The role is for 15 hours per week, broken down into 3 continuous hours of work per day, Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm. Due to the nature of the work, there is no scope for remote working in the role.
