Job Description

**Job Title:** Payroll and Pensions Administrator

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Pensions Administrator to join our team at Portfolio Payroll Limited. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of payroll and pensions administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Administration: Take ownership of administrative tasks in the payroll process, acting as the point of contact for enquiries and proactively resolving issues.
  2. Pensions Administration: Support the administrative process of pensions, ensuring problems are identified and addressed with relevant departments.
  3. Payroll Services: Support timely delivery of accurate payroll services to all employees within the organization and subsidiaries.
  4. Employee Enquiries: Act as the first point of contact for employees regarding payroll and pensions.
  5. Adaptations: Ensure that all adaptations are carried out in a timely manner.
  6. HMRC and Pension Providers: Support relevant colleagues in ensuring correct payments, reports, and returns are made to HMRC, pension providers, and other bodies.
  7. Internal Policies and Processes: Ensure internal policies and processes are followed across all workflows, seeking support where challenges arise.
  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with functions within the organization to ensure consistency of information and processes.
  9. Data and Reporting: Ensure all data and reporting is updated in a timely manner across relevant databases and fits the needs of the business.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Experience in a similar role with payroll responsibilities.
  2. Administration and Customer Support: Experience in providing high-quality administration and customer support.
  3. Numerical Administration and Communications: Experience in numerical administration and communications at the level of the role.
  4. IT Proficiency: IT proficiency, with the ability to learn new software programs and competent knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  5. Travel: Willingness to attend regular visits to different service locations.
  6. Payroll, Pensions, and Laws: Working knowledge and understanding of payroll, pensions, and relevant laws and external policies.

Desirable:

  1. Similar-Sized Organization: Experience in a similar-sized organization with a complex payroll delivered in-house.
  2. Commercial Decisions: Ability to make commercially and value-driven balanced decisions using data.
  3. Education Sector: Knowledge of the education sector.
