Job Summary:

Blackthorne Consulting Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead our design team in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering design on a variety of project types and sizes, ensuring high standards of quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, reports, and presentations for clients and project teams.
  • Create and maintain a high reputation within the industry, and ensure adherence to quality management and risk control procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve our design and delivery processes.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of modern technical delivery methods, particularly in relation to Building Information Modelling (BIM).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
