About the Role:


A prominent Housing organization focusing on Supported and Luxury living is in search of a knowledgeable Governance and Compliance Specialist for a 6-month fixed-term contract.


This is an opportunity to join a growing Housing organization that is navigating through exciting developments and expansion.


In this role, you will provide outstanding services to a diverse resident base while ensuring that operations adhere to the highest standards of governance and compliance.


Your Responsibilities:


As a Governance and Compliance Specialist, you will be instrumental in assisting the Boards by overseeing governance, regulatory, and legislative compliance services.


Key Duties Include:
Board Support: Coordinating meeting schedules and preparing agendas.Board Processes: Managing the recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, and offboarding of Board members.Governance Audits: Assisting with audits and formulating improvement strategies.Compliance Management: Keeping the compliance register, policy tracker, and contract registers up to date.Risk Management: Supporting the Executive team with risk assessments.Stakeholder Communication: Engaging regularly with the Regulator of Social Housing and aiding directors in reporting duties.
About You:


To be successful in this role, you should possess:

Experience: A background in governance or compliance is essential; legal experience is advantageous but not mandatory.Skills: A solid understanding of the NHF code of governance, coupled with excellent time management and organizational abilities, while maintaining confidentiality.Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication skills, with the capability to engage diplomatically and professionally with all stakeholders.
Additional Information:


This position requires flexibility, as there may be a need to work extended hours when necessary.


This is a full-time, office-based role (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
