About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at HealthcareNZ Limited. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities in our Nelson residential services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and household management tasks.
  • Support individuals to develop their skills and independence, and to participate in activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure that individuals receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, and participate in regular reviews and updates.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, and help them to build relationships with their peers and community.

Requirements
  • A passion for working with people with disabilities and a commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • A full driver's license is essential.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
  • Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs and interests.
