About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systemic Family Therapist to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality systemic psychotherapy to children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a clinical caseload, working directly with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental health challenges.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological and systemic assessments of children, young people, and families, including risk evaluation.
  • Develop and implement specific care packages of specialized therapeutic interventions, utilizing a wide range of systemic models.
  • Deliver expert one-on-one clinical consultations to other clinical staff regarding the application of Family Therapy and Systemic Psychotherapy.
  • Assist in the provision of guidance and consultancy to local teams and services of partner agencies, promoting the integration of informed systemic practice.
  • Engage in the supervision of newly qualified systemic psychotherapists and trainees.
Requirements
  • Masters/Doctorate level in Systemic psychotherapy from a training institute recognized by the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice.
  • Active United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Registration as a systemic psychotherapist.
  • Experience in assessment and therapeutic work with children and families across the age range, with a full range of presenting problems and across settings.
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment independently and within a multidisciplinary and multiagency context.
  • Extensive experience of case management, including experience of assessing and managing risk.
