Family Liaison Officer

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Family Liaison Officer to provide compassionate support to families and loved ones during investigations into patient safety incidents. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that families are treated with respect, professionalism, and sensitivity.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive administration and electronic records of all contact with families and loved ones
- Support Corporate Patient Safety Incident Investigators in their work, ensuring that families are kept informed and involved throughout the investigation process
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with families, providing emotional support and guidance as needed
- Collaborate with Senior Nurses and Clinicians, Patient Safety Specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting families
- Contribute to the development of best practice guidelines and training programs for staff on family engagement and support
- Provide regular reports to the Trust Executive Team and Commissioners on the progress of investigations and the impact on families
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with families and loved ones
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of emotional intelligence and empathy
- Knowledge of patient safety and incident investigation principles, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development
