Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining our company ledgers, preparing monthly management accounts, and providing financial analysis to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Reporting
    • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheet control account reconciliations.
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  2. Financial Analysis
    • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and forecasting.
  3. Accounting and Compliance
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of sales invoices, sales credits, and account adjustments.
    • Review and reconcile ledgers to ensure accurate VAT accounting on all sales and purchase transactions.
  4. Credit Control and Collections
    • Oversee the creation of new clients on our ERP system, ensuring all onboarding documents and compliance checks are completed.
    • Maintain credit limits and review with the Financial Controller.
  5. Price Lists and Stock Management
    • Assist in the maintenance of the stock database, updating for new or discontinued products/manufacturers.
Requirements
  1. 5 GCSE's (Level A-C)
  2. AAT Qualified (or similar, QBE)
  3. Minimum 3 years finance experience
  4. Maintaining records on an accounting system (SAP, Sage or similar)
  5. Credit control
  6. Confident user of MS office software (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  7. Ability to provide financial analysis to support the business in decision making
  8. Use of SAP Business One software (desirable)
  9. Knowledge of construction industry processes and products (desirable)
  10. Ability to work in a busy, open plan office
  11. Able to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively
  12. Good communication skills, able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  13. Able to present complex financial data to non-financial colleagues
  14. MS Office software, particularly Excel
  15. Knowledge of audio visual products (desirable)
