About the Role

As the Senior Planning Policy Lead, you will spearhead the County Council's engagement with national and regional publications concerning infrastructure matters, Statutory Undertakers, and overarching policy documents. This position presents a diverse range of challenges and opportunities. You will collaborate closely with District Council representatives, Local Members, senior staff, and central government. Your exceptional communication abilities will enable you to interpret intricate planning policies and assess their implications for the County Council.

About the Team

The Infrastructure Investment Team is dedicated to ensuring that the county's transport, housing, and employment sectors are prepared for future demands. The team is involved in strategic planning policy, facilitating housing and business development, and addressing infrastructure requirements. Collaboration with various stakeholders, both nationally and locally, is essential to transform innovative ideas into reality.

About You

We seek an individual with a degree or higher qualification in town and country planning, surveying, or a related discipline, who has demonstrated experience in a senior role within a complex political landscape.

You should possess a comprehensive understanding of the development process, allowing you to effectively manage and execute the overall planning policy function. Experience in providing evidence and serving as an expert witness in public inquiries is crucial, showcasing your capability to navigate and influence multifaceted situations.

Furthermore, a proven history of fostering collaborative partnerships among diverse organizations is essential, as is extensive project management experience. The ability to apply various project management methodologies will be vital for success in this role.
