Position Overview:

Join our team as a Home Ownership Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing customer interactions related to property ownership. This position offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility while ensuring you remain connected with our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring a smooth experience in home ownership matters.
  • Provide direct assistance to the Home Ownership Manager and collaborate with the broader Home Ownership team, focusing on areas such as Right to Buy, Shared Ownership, Leasehold, and related queries.
  • Support the collection and management of ground rents, leasehold service charges, and administrative fees.

Essential Duties:

  • Handle general correspondence regarding home ownership, including leasehold concerns and right to buy inquiries, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
  • Accurately document all customer interactions and transactions in the designated system, ensuring comprehensive records of case progress and outcomes.
  • Assist in managing transaction files by organizing documents and updating necessary systems.
  • Help draft and issue formal notices in compliance with relevant legislation as needed.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary, including inspections to gather communal utility readings.
  • Foster effective working relationships with other council personnel and contractors.
  • Maintain and update records and plans, ensuring accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.
  • Process leaseholder applications that require permission under lease agreements, responding within established timelines and coordinating technical advice as necessary.
  • Aid in the collection of annual service charges and ground rent, ensuring compliance with statutory billing regulations and assisting in the allocation of costs incurred by the council.
