Job Title: Transport Planner

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our Transport Team at our Rugby site. As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in the success of our transport operation, responsible for planning and overseeing the day-to-day transport function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Transport and Warehouse teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
  • Assemble 400+ consolidated orders into loads within a 24-hour period.
  • Plan daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and outbases.
  • Report problems and deal with issues and any queries that may arise.
  • Plan approx. 100 collections per day on a time-critical basis.
  • Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs.
  • Proactively look for continuous improvements.
  • Make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a transport and logistics environment.
  • PC literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, with the willingness to resolve complex issues.
  • Comfortable organising your own workload and working in a pressurised environment to meet key deadlines.
