Position Overview

The Senior Compliance Partner operates within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework, specifically within the Compliance division, and reports directly to the Compliance Manager. This role collaborates closely with the Schemes & Affinities (S&A) sector and oversees the Deputy Conduct Officer for S&A, ensuring effective management and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on current and upcoming regulations, as well as PIB Group's compliance policies and frameworks.
  • Conduct training sessions and briefings on significant regulatory topics and challenges.
  • Offer advice on improvement initiatives, potential compliance breaches, and conduct thorough root cause analyses.
  • Review compliance metrics and business performance data to facilitate constructive challenges.
  • Ensure that a regulatory perspective is integrated into key business discussions, initiatives, and projects.
  • Contribute to the organization's evaluation of regulatory risks as part of its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
  • Support senior management functions and certified individuals in accordance with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).
  • Provide guidance following reviews conducted by internal or external parties.
  • Assist the business with responses to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
  • Mentor and manage the Deputy Compliance Officer, including conducting performance evaluations.

This role is pivotal in identifying, escalating, and managing regulatory challenges and compliance breaches.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, analytical capabilities, and stakeholder management proficiency:

  • Experience in a similar compliance partnering role, preferably within general insurance brokerage, with a background in regulatory improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging in robust discussions and translating complex regulations into accessible language.
  • Proven ability to implement regulatory changes and improvements in collaboration with business units.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations relevant to general insurance, including Consumer Duty and Product Governance.
  • Educational qualifications at degree level; professional qualifications such as ACII or compliance certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Adept at navigating dynamic environments and managing multiple subject matters.
