Position Overview

The Senior Compliance Partner role is situated within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework, specifically in the Compliance division. This position reports directly to the Compliance Manager and oversees the Deputy Conduct Officer for the Schemes & Affinities (S&A) sector. The S&A division primarily engages with consumer clients, including vulnerable individuals, and some commercial clients through various specialized schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer expert guidance on current and forthcoming regulations, along with PIB's compliance policies and frameworks.
  • Conduct training sessions and presentations on significant regulatory matters.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improvement actions, potential compliance breaches, and root cause analysis.
  • Analyze compliance and business performance metrics to facilitate constructive challenges.
  • Ensure a regulatory viewpoint is integrated into essential business discussions, initiatives, and projects.
  • Contribute to the firm's evaluation of regulatory risks within its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
  • Support Senior Management Functions (SMFs) and Certified individuals as part of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).
  • Advise on outcomes following internal or external reviews of the business.
  • Assist the business in responding to Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) inquiries.
  • Oversee and mentor the Deputy Compliance Officer, including conducting performance evaluations.

This role is pivotal in identifying, escalating, and managing regulatory challenges and compliance breaches.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, analytical abilities, and stakeholder management capabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar compliance business partnering role, preferably within general insurance brokerage, with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging in meaningful dialogue with stakeholders.
  • Proven history of collaborating with business units to drive regulatory enhancements and transformations.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations applicable to general insurance, including Consumer Duty and Product Governance.
  • Possession of a degree and relevant compliance qualifications, such as ACII, is advantageous.
  • Experience in a leadership or team management capacity is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple subjects and operations.
