Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Support Engineer to join our team on a zero-hours contract basis. As an out-of-hours support specialist, you will work remotely and play a crucial role in providing technical support to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Availability: Be on standby during specified out-of-hours periods (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to respond promptly to incidents and service requests.
  • Remote Support: Provide remote technical assistance to end-users, diagnosing and resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Incident Management: Log incidents, prioritise tasks, and escalate critical issues as necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions, and procedures.
  • Communication: Keep stakeholders informed about ongoing incidents and expected resolution times.
  • Security: Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in IT support, preferably in an out-of-hours capacity.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and macOS environments.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop tools and ticketing systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent are a plus.
Compensation
  • Flat Fee for Availability: We offer a competitive flat fee for being on standby during out-of-hours periods.
  • Hourly Rate: In addition to the flat fee, you'll receive an hourly rate for any actual work performed during these hours.
