About the Role

Vickerstock is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the West Midlands. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for maintaining all manufacturing plant, equipment, and facilities in good working order.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM) and carry out PPM schedules as necessary.
  • Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults, and concerns to the line manager.
  • Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues and make full use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Plan and prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Assist in the meeting of daily production plans and fill in job tickets/CMMS on completion of work accurately and in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist in the moving, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment.
  • Identify spares requirements, log usage, and aid in control.

  • Work in compliance with the Health and Safety Policy to ensure hazards are identified and risk assessed and controlled.
  • Be proactive in managing personal health, safety, and wellbeing and that of colleagues.
  • Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to safety.
  • Work in an efficient manner by performing duties in such a way as to not effect the environment negatively, waste materials unnecessarily, damage company property, or effect the success of the team of which one is a member.
  • Protect the general security of the site and the people working in it.
  • Ensure any process change or improvement complies with all relevant health and safety policies.

  • Communicate all issues to the team leader/shift Production Manager.
  • Services breakdown to notify Maintenance and Production Managers immediately.
  • Maintenance and Production Managers must be notified of any stoppages lasting one hour or more.
