Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Wright Staff. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM) to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues and identify root causes of equipment failures.
  • Make full use of our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and manage maintenance activities.
  • Plan and prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Assist in the meeting of daily production plan and ensure that all maintenance activities are completed on time.
  • Fill in job tickets/CMMS on completion of work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify spares requirements, log usage, and aid in control to minimize waste and optimize inventory levels.
  • Assist in the moving, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment.

  • Work in compliance with our Health and Safety Policy to ensure hazards are identified and risk assessed and controlled.
  • Be proactive in managing personal health, safety, and wellbeing and that of colleagues.
  • Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to safety.
  • Work in an efficient manner by performing duties in such a way as to not affect the environment negatively, waste materials unnecessarily, damage company property, or affect the success of the team.
  • Protect the general security of the site and the people working in it.

Communication:

  • Conduct all communication requirements in a professional, positive, and clear manner.
  • Oral communication should be clear and persuasive in positive or negative situations.
  • Openly give and receive feedback.
  • Actively participate in meetings with good presentation skills.

Additional Responsibilities/Personal Performance:

  • Ensure line performance is optimized.
  • Communicate all issues to team leader/shift Production Manager.
  • Services breakdown to notify Maintenance and Production Managers immediately.
  • Maintenance and Production Managers must be notified of any stoppages lasting one hour or more.

  • Consider behavior of the team in relation to customer satisfaction and ensure brand protection occurs.
  • Production is our primary customer.
