Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Wright Staff. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM) to minimize downtime and optimize production.
- Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned works orders as required, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard.
- Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary, providing technical support and guidance.
- Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults, and concerns to the line Manager, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues, using your technical expertise to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
- Make full use of our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and manage maintenance activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Plan and prioritize your workload to support production, ensuring efficient use of working time and minimizing delays.
- Assist in the meeting of daily production plans, working closely with the production team to ensure smooth operation.
- Fill in job tickets/CMMS on completion of work accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant with company procedures.
- Typical examples of work may include responding to maintenance requests for equipment faults, diagnosing faults, repairing, and returning equipment to operational service, all while operating in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify spares requirements, log usage, and aid in control, ensuring accurate inventory management and minimizing waste.
- Assist in the moving, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
- Health and Safety, Environment, and Housekeeping are essential aspects of this role, requiring you to work in compliance with our Health and Safety Policy, identifying and mitigating hazards, and promoting a safe working environment.
- To work in an efficient manner, performing duties in such a way as to not affect the environment negatively, waste materials unnecessarily, damage company property, or impact the success of the team.
- To protect the general security of the site and the people working in it, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- To ensure any process change or improvement complies with all relevant health and safety policies, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- All communication requirements must be conducted in a professional, positive, and clear manner, ensuring effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Oral communication must be clear and persuasive in positive or negative situations, with the ability to openly give and receive feedback.
- Actively participate in meetings with good presentation skills, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Written communication must be clear and informative, with good spelling and grammar, numerical data concisely and accurately reported.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the business, with a focus on building constructive working relationships.
- To always be respectful of other colleagues' views and ideas, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- To communicate change effectively, supporting affected individuals, monitoring transition, and evaluating results.
- To ensure line performance is optimized, working closely with the production team to achieve production goals.
- To communicate all issues to the team leader/shift Production Manager, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Services breakdown to notify Maintenance and Production Managers immediately, ensuring prompt response and resolution.
- Maintenance and Production Managers must be notified of any stoppages lasting one hour or more, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
- To consider behavior of the team in relation to customer satisfaction and to ensure brand protection occurs, prioritizing customer needs and expectations.
- Production is our primary customer, requiring a focus on delivering high-quality products and services that meet their needs and expectations.
