Position Title: Lead Systems Engineering Consultant

Location: Flexible working arrangements available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering strategic leadership and expert guidance to Systems Engineers and Model-Based Systems Engineering professionals, engineering teams, and program leaders to enhance the effective application of systems engineering principles.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Systems Engineer to conduct regular assessments on programs, ensuring that Systems Engineering directives are accurately interpreted and executed.
  • Providing mentorship, training, and on-demand support to Systems Engineering practitioners.
  • Offering consultancy to Systems Engineering/Model-Based Systems Engineering framework leaders to ensure frameworks are cohesive and applicable in real-world scenarios.
  • Engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure their specialized requirements are seamlessly integrated and upheld within Systems Engineering program initiatives.
  • Keeping abreast of advancements and best practices in Systems Engineering to make informed decisions regarding their implementation within the organization.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of modern systems engineering methodologies applied to large-scale system development across various system types.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering technical methodologies and practices, including ontologies, modeling languages, architecture frameworks, processes, and tools.
  • Chartered status or progress towards it.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the BAE Systems Engineering Delivery Framework or similar methodologies.
