About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Affinity Water. As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making and transforming complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis: Understand business requirements to identify data sources and support with extract and transform activities.
  • Data Quality: Clean and reprocess data to ensure readiness for analysis.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis: Perform exploratory data analysis to understand trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Data Collection: Collect, clean, and prepare data from structured and unstructured sources for analysis.
  • Data Interpretation: Analyse, interpret, and report data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data Visualization: Create data visualisations and storytelling to represent data findings clearly and effectively.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Data Governance Lead, business stakeholders, and other roles to build data management, data governance, and data quality assurance.
  • Insight Generation: Provide insights and designs for Data Engineers and Performance Insight Analysts.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Undertake ad-hoc data analysis to support business decisions.
  • Professional Development: Continuously develop personal skills to stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in data analysis.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of SQL that can be practically applied, proficient in tools such as SQL, Python, and R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of UI/UX design concepts, working understanding of Data Protection 2018 requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, flexible and a team player, self-motivated with a positive approach.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organisational skills and experience in prioritising work to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Working knowledge of Data Analysis, Data Governance principles, Data Quality, Data Warehousing, and Information Governance, experience with enterprise-level data infrastructure and knowledge of ETL principles.
