Head of Supply Chain and Manufacturing

About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic Head of Supply Chain & Manufacturing to join our team in Reading, UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our company by managing our supply chain effectively. You will serve as a liaison between our external electronics and mechanical manufacturing partners and the company, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
Key Responsibilities- Demand Planning: Utilise forecasted demand for products and components to ensure adequate inventory levels while minimising excess stock.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including maintaining the Approved Vendor Listing (AVL) and managing relationships with suppliers.
- Manufacturing Planning: Oversee the relationship with our contract manufacturing partners, ensuring proper process control, well-maintained delivery schedules, and quality control.
- Purchasing Activities: Handle procurement activities, including obtaining quotes, raising purchase orders, and monitoring lead times for component stock.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Work closely with Engineering to update and maintain the BOM for all products, ensuring accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with testing and assembly standards by third-party providers, monitoring and reporting on product quality.
- Stock Control: Manage stock inventory, including recording and maintaining accurate stock levels. Collaborate with the Operations team on stock counting and control processes.
- Resource Planning System Development: Develop and implement an ERP/MRP system to manage stock from production to delivery.
- Reporting and KPI Analysis: Prepare ad hoc reports and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and optimise supply chain performance.
- Experience in procurement and supply chain management for hardware/electrical components with layered bills of materials, preferably within high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience using an ERP system for inventory management and procurement processes, ideally Cin7 or similar.
- A keen interest in the energy sector and commitment to achieving Net Zero goals.
£55k to £75k Base + Benefits
