Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Supply Chain and Manufacturing to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing our supply chain effectively, ensuring seamless coordination and communication between our external electronics and mechanical manufacturing partners and the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Demand Planning: Utilize forecasted demand for products and components to ensure adequate inventory levels to meet customer needs while minimizing excess stock.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including maintaining the Approved Vendor Listing (AVL) and managing relationships with suppliers.
- Manufacturing Planning: Oversee the relationship with our contract manufacturing partners, ensuring proper process control, well-maintained delivery schedules, and quality control.
- Purchasing Activities: Handle procurement activities, including obtaining quotes, raising purchase orders, and monitoring lead times for component stock.
- Supplier Development: Identify new suppliers and alternative providers, negotiating pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness, development, and compliance to our supplier quality manual.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Work closely with Engineering to update and maintain the BOM for all products, ensuring accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with testing and assembly standards by third-party providers, monitoring and reporting on product quality.
- Stock Control: Manage stock inventory, including recording and maintaining accurate stock levels. Collaborate with the Operations team on stock counting and control processes.
- Order Fulfilment Support: Provide assistance to the Operations team as needed to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
- Resource Planning System Development: Develop and implement an ERP/MRP system to manage stock from production to delivery.
- Reporting and KPI Analysis: Prepare ad hoc reports and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and optimize supply chain performance.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Experience in procurement and supply chain management for hardware/electrical components with layered bills of materials, preferably within high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Proactive self-starter with a strong initiative to drive continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
