About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Singing for the Brain Support Volunteer. As a valued member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and encouragement to people affected by dementia during our singing sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming and engaging with people with dementia, helping them to feel at ease and included in the activity.
  • Providing encouragement and support to participants, enabling them to fully engage with the singing session.
  • Assisting the session facilitator with the activities, either online or in person.

You'll be great for the role if:

  • You have a genuine interest in developing meaningful relationships and making a positive impact on people's lives.
  • You are passionate about enabling people with dementia to find their voice through music.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and display compassion.
  • You are comfortable using technology, including Zoom, to facilitate online sessions.

This group currently meets on Thursdays. We are looking for regular volunteers for our groups in Abergavenny and Monmouth.
