Position Overview: The role of the Education Inclusion Officer is integral to ensuring that every child has access to their educational rights. This position involves providing support for school attendance and working collaboratively with various agencies and educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with families to advocate for their children's right to a full-time education.
  • Identify and address barriers to education, employing a solution-focused approach to facilitate positive outcomes.
  • Engage with partner organizations and schools to promote effective educational access for children and young people.
  • Manage casework related to school attendance, including children missing in education and elective home education.
  • Support families through processes related to school exclusions and suspensions.
  • Initiate legal actions regarding irregular school attendance when necessary.
  • Issue penalty notices to parents/carers in accordance with established criteria.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience working with families and children is essential. A methodical and empathetic approach to managing sensitive situations is required.

Personal Attributes: Candidates should be confident, organized, and capable of interpreting data to inform their practice. The ability to build rapport with children, young people, and their families is crucial for effecting positive change.
