As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of pedestrians and promoting a culture of road safety awareness.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide a safe and efficient school crossing service to children and their parents/guardians.
  • Use your judgment of speed and distance to determine when it is safe to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross the road.
  • Work collaboratively with local residents, parents, and school staff to promote road safety awareness and encourage responsible behavior.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of road use and traffic awareness to ensure the safe passage of pedestrians.

**Requirements**

  • Good verbal communication skills to effectively interact with the public and promote road safety awareness.
  • A strong understanding of road use and traffic awareness to ensure the safe passage of pedestrians.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.

**Working Arrangements**

This is a term-time only position, with duty times covering the period before school opens in the morning and the period after the school closes in the afternoon. The successful candidate will be required to work a variable schedule to meet the needs of the school and the community.
