About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our team at Barclays Bank UK PLC. As a Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our systems and sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise on security systems and engineering patterns.
  • Develop and implement protocols, algorithms, and software applications to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Manage and protect secrets, ensuring they are securely generated, stored, and used.
  • Execute audits to monitor, identify, and assess vulnerabilities in our infrastructure and software.
  • Identify advancements to support the innovation and adoption of new cryptographic technologies and techniques.
  • Collaborate with developers and security teams to ensure cryptographic solutions align with business objectives, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement Identity and Access Management solutions and systems.
Assistant Vice President Expectations
  • Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies and procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to other areas, requiring an understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources, to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information, including sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate due to its content or audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
Requirements
  • Strong programming skills in Golang, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, or Terraform.
  • Experience with REST API.
  • Knowledge of Hashicorp Vault.
  • Familiarity with UI technologies.
  • Experience with Linux, macOS, and cloud technologies.
Location

This role can be based out of either Knutsford or Glasgow.
