Airbus Helicopters is a global leader in helicopter manufacturing, and its Oxford Airport site serves as the primary hub for civil helicopters in Britain. AHUK boasts extensive experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance, and spares support. The company's in-house engineering capabilities encompass design, customization, installation, flight testing, certification, technical support, maintenance, training, and the supply of spares for both civil and military applications.

AHUK is the Ministry of Defence's preferred provider of helicopters and maintenance services for its Defence Helicopter Flying School (MFTS) located at RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).

Role Overview: Principle Avionics Design Engineer

As a Lead Avionics Design Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in avionics and electrical design to lead the development of innovative solutions for both new customization projects and retrofit initiatives. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team involved in exciting projects within a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive leadership and oversight for all avionics and electrical design activities.
  • Ensure compliance with UK or UK Military regulations throughout the design process.
  • Collaborate effectively with project stakeholders to resolve design challenges and ensure seamless integration.
  • Mentor and guide a team of avionic design engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Develop and implement efficient avionics and electrical design procedures that deliver cost-effective solutions while meeting evolving requirements.
