Technical Support Engineer for Laboratory Equipment

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Analytical Laboratory Equipment Engineer to join our team. This role is based in a site located in Harrogate and operates on a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday.

Location Requirements:

Ideal candidates will reside in Harrogate or within a reasonable commuting distance from areas such as Wetherby, Knaresborough, York, or Leeds.

Candidate Profile:

The successful applicant will have approximately two years of experience in servicing analytical laboratory equipment, including but not limited to:

  • Chromatography systems (HPLC, GC, LC)
  • Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS, LC-MS)
  • Spectroscopy instruments
  • Other laboratory apparatus such as balances, centrifuges, and autoclaves

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized engineering support and equipment triage for various analytical laboratory instruments while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in complex systems and equipment.
  • Develop, manage, and review essential documentation, including service reports.
  • Assist users in drafting and designing operating procedures, SOPs, change control documents, and manuals.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of onsite vendors by guiding them to appropriate work areas and ensuring adherence to site induction protocols.
