We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Registered Nurse with an Anaesthetic Qualification to join our Gynaecology and Obstetrics Theatre Team at Northampton General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Assist anaesthetists in delivering high-quality anaesthetics to patients undergoing surgery in the Day Surgery Unit (DSU).
- Take responsibility for maintaining a safe and clean work environment, including restocking, reordering equipment, and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Contribute to the development of a culture that prioritizes innovation, quality improvement, and patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Participate in the monitoring and maintenance of equipment used in the theatre, reporting any faults or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in cleaning schedules and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the theatre area.
- Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality care, adhering to Trust policies and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families/carers.
- Actively maintain and promote a safe theatre environment, adhering to Trust policies and guidelines.
- Registered Nurse with an Anaesthetic Qualification or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) qualification.
- Previous experience within anaesthetics, scrub, or recovery.
- Ability to assess, plan, prioritize, deliver, and evaluate patient care.
- Competent and capable of using medical equipment.
- Able to undertake patient manual handling manoeuvres and non-patient manual handling manoeuvres.
