About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Anaesthetic Practitioner to join our theatre team at Northampton General Hospital. As an Anaesthetic Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our operating theatres, working closely with scrub practitioners and other theatre staff to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of operating theatres, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are available and in good working order.
- Work closely with anaesthetists and surgeons to provide safe and effective anaesthetic care to patients.
- Participate in the development and implementation of theatre policies and procedures, ensuring that they are aligned with Trust guidelines and standards.
- Contribute to the education and training of junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with other theatre staff to ensure that patients receive seamless care throughout their peri-operative journey.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with recognized anaesthetic qualification.
- Previous experience in anaesthetics, preferably in a theatre setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
