We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Nutrition Support Assistant to become part of the newly established Nutrition Support Team at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

This service focuses on providing training and collaborating with diverse health and social care teams, organizations, and individuals to meet the evolving needs of our local communities. The Nutrition Support Team is composed of a Clinical Lead Dietitian, Dietitians, administrative support, and Nutrition Support Assistants.

The Nutrition Support Assistants play a vital role in the prevention, identification, and management of adult malnutrition across our district. This includes fulfilling the responsibilities outlined in the job description. Key responsibilities involve delivering nutritional support training programs in care facilities and to other health and social care professionals in the community. Training will be provided throughout the employment period.

Primary Responsibilities

The Nutrition Support Assistant utilizes both technical and creative skills to provide training and support to staff working in community settings and conduct assessments for individual patients within defined clinical pathways related to adult malnutrition. The post holder will be responsible for evaluating and adjusting dietetic treatment interventions while delivering training for staff in community settings, under the guidance of dietitian(s). They will manage their own workload with minimal supervision but will have access to a dietitian for advice and direction as needed.
