Position Overview

VMCH is seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech Pathologist to contribute to our early childhood intervention services. This full-time role focuses on providing exceptional support to children aged 0-12 years and their families, working within a collaborative team of professionals committed to fostering developmental growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with families and children as part of a trans-disciplinary team, delivering high-quality interventions tailored to individual needs.
  • Implement a variety of evidence-based strategies, assessments, and parent training programs to enhance communication skills and social participation.
  • Conduct face-to-face consultations in natural settings, including schools and community environments, as well as at VMCH facilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to create and execute comprehensive support plans that address the unique challenges faced by each child.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A relevant qualification in Speech Pathology and registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Experience in speech pathology assessment and service delivery, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Competence in providing consultative support that promotes positive change through reflective and strength-based practices.
  • Capability to mentor fellow team members in specialized areas of expertise.
  • A current Working with Children Check, NDIS Screening Clearance, and a valid driver’s license.
