About the Role

VMCH is seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist to join our team of highly skilled professionals who are passionate about enabling people to reach their full potential.

This full-time position is based in our ECIS program, providing services to children and their families aged 0-12 years.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a skilled Speech Pathologist with 2+ years' experience in paediatric Speech Pathology to expand their career within the Allied Health space.

About You

As a VMCH Speech Pathologist, you will:

  • Join our early childhood intervention service and work as part of a trans-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality services to families and children aged 0-12 years.
  • Provide key worker support to families and children, including delivering a broad range of evidence-informed intervention strategies, standardized assessments, and parent training to increase communication and active participation in social and educational settings for children.
  • Undertake face-to-face consultation and relationship building in natural environments, schools, and kindergartens, as well as on-site at VMCH facilities and therapy spaces.
  • Liaise and collaborate with a transdisciplinary team to design and deliver comprehensive support plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality speech pathology services to children and their families.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to service delivery.
  • Provide training and support to families and other professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge in communication and social participation.

Requirements

  • A relevant qualification in Speech Pathology and relevant registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Experience and/or willingness to learn in speech pathology assessment and service delivery.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide effective consultative skills that facilitate change through the use of reflective and strength-based practice.
  • Ability to coach other transdisciplinary team members in areas of expertise.
  • A current Working with Children Check, NDIS Screening Clearance, and full driver's license.
