Position Overview

VMCH is seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech Pathologist to contribute to our exceptional team focused on empowering children and their families. This full-time role involves working within the Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) program, catering to children aged 0-12 years.

Role Responsibilities

As a Speech Pathologist at VMCH, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating within a trans-disciplinary team to provide high-quality support services to families and children.
  • Offering key worker assistance, implementing a variety of evidence-based intervention strategies, conducting standardized assessments, and providing parent training to enhance communication and social participation.
  • Engaging in face-to-face consultations and building relationships in natural settings, including schools and kindergartens, as well as VMCH facilities.
  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to create and execute comprehensive support plans tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A recognized qualification in Speech Pathology and registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Relevant experience or a willingness to develop skills in speech pathology assessment and service delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in providing consultative support that promotes change through reflective and strength-based practices.
  • Capability to mentor other team members in your areas of expertise.
  • A current Working with Children Check, NDIS Screening Clearance, and a valid driver's license.
