We are seeking a Senior Market Governance and Risk Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Market Governance, Risk and Resilience Senior Manager and the Head of Market Governance in undertaking expert analysis of submissions and documents from the market to assess the level of maturity and the degree to which managing agents are undertaking good practice and are in line with the expectations of Principles Based Oversight.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe role holder will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and analyzing a range of managing agent documents, including ORSAs, Board Effectiveness Reviews, and Board Packs, to make recommendations to the Senior Manager on whether additional oversight activity is required.
- Operating the Governance Indicators Framework, including engaging with internal teams, providing reports to the Senior Manager on any changes and developments, and preparing reports to the Market Oversight Group.
- Providing support to the Senior Manager and Head of Function in conducting oversight, including meetings with Board Directors and Senior Executives of managing agents to discuss Risk Management and Governance.
- Managing the change of control process for managing agents, including reviewing applications and providing summaries of transactions to senior stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant governance and risk management experience.
- Significant experience managing activities, priorities, and people up to a senior level.
- Experience advising on risk management, performance, and regulation.
- Exposure to presenting to and/or communicating with regulators.
- Regulatory expectations in regard to governance and risk management.
- The factors that drive strong governance, an effective Board, developing and executing a successful strategy, and pitfalls to avoid.
- Knowledge of business process and systems change tools and best practice principles.
