Risk and Governance Review Senior Associate Job Description

About the Role

Lloyd's is seeking to recruit a Risk and Governance Review Senior Associate to support the Market Governance, Risk and Resilience Senior Manager and the Head of Markets Governance. The successful candidate will undertake expert analysis of submissions and documents from the market to assess the level of maturity and the degree to which managing agents are undertaking good practice and are in line with the requirements of Principles Based Oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review and analyse a range of documents such as ORSAs, Risk Management Audits, PRA Pre Periodic Supervisory Meeting Letters, Board Effectiveness Reviews and Board Packs to make recommendations to the Senior Manager on whether additional oversight activity is required.
  2. Operate the Governance Indicators Framework, engaging with internal teams to ensure information is up to date, providing reports to the Senior Manager on any changes and developments which may need to involve Account Managers or Oversight Teams.
  3. Prepare reporting on the Governance Indicators Framework for internal governance meetings.
  4. Provide support to the Senior Appointments process, analysing proposed appointments and participating in interviews.
  5. Manage the change of control review and approval process, including reviewing applications and providing summaries of transactions to senior stakeholders.
  6. Support the Senior Manager in additional oversight meetings with managing agents to discuss Risk Management and Governance.

Requirements

  1. Relevant governance and risk management experience.
  2. Significant experience managing activities, priorities and people up to a senior level.
  3. Experience of relationship and stakeholder management at a senior management level.
  4. Experience advising on risk management, performance and regulation.
  5. Exposure to presenting to and/or communicating with regulators.
  6. The commercial drivers of profit and loss for insurance/reinsurance businesses.
  7. The factors that materially affect risk and may ultimately cause the failure of an insurance/reinsurance business.
  8. Regulatory expectations in regard to governance and risk management.
  9. The factors that drive strong governance, an effective Board, developing and executing a successful strategy and pitfalls to avoid.
  10. Knowledge of business process and systems change tools and best practice principles.
