Job Summary:

A key role at Ashford College, the Student Engagement Officer will oversee the promotion of the Student voice, supporting Class representatives to advocate for their area, and work closely with the Students' Union to ensure students' needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and participation
  • Support Class representatives in their roles, providing guidance and resources as needed
  • Collaborate with the Students' Union to ensure student needs are met and represented
  • Stay up-to-date with current youth trends and best practices in student engagement
  • Utilize social media and other channels to promote student events and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, staff, and external partners to promote student success

Requirements:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and staff
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of current youth trends and best practices in student engagement
  • Experience working with students and staff in a higher education setting
