Job Title: Aftersales Service Engineer

Join our team as an Aftersales Service Engineer and play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our heavy mobile plant equipment. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance servicing, machine inspections, and minor repairs to ensure our customers' equipment is running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine servicing of equipment in line with manufacturers' guidelines, including oil sampling and maintenance of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct thorough machine inspections to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent downtime.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including installation of telematic systems and undercarriage inspections.
Requirements:
  • Either direct experience (around 3 years) or working in a related engineering function, such as car mechanics, HGV fitters, or former REME personnel.
  • Formal training in health and safety is desirable but not essential, as further training will be provided.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a field-based role, requiring a full driving license held for at least 2 years. The working pattern is Tuesday to Saturday.

Specific Skills:

A basic knowledge of the four main product elements (Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics) relating to servicing and repair of heavy mobile plant is essential.

Accountability:

Attend customer locations as advised by the controller, carry out preventative maintenance servicing, and liaise with the service controller and customer throughout the process.

Education and Experience:

Either direct experience or working in a related engineering function, with formal training in health and safety desirable but not essential.
