About Our Power & Utilities (P&U) Practice

Our P&U practice is the largest business area within IAG, encompassing work for major clients in the sector, including all UK utilities as well as some of the largest energy and water companies in Europe and beyond. We provide strategic and technical advice on strategy and business planning and analysis, regulatory finance, corporate finance and corporate financial management, regulatory policy, and more.

The Role: Regulatory Finance Director

We are seeking a highly experienced Regulatory Finance Director to lead our growing team within the Power & Utilities sector. You will play a crucial role in advising clients on complex financial matters related to infrastructure projects, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality financial analysis and advisory services to clients in the Power & Utilities sector.
  • Conduct in-depth financial modeling and valuation exercises for infrastructure projects.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance, capital structure optimization, and risk management strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in the field of finance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and industry partners.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of success in a similar role within the Power & Utilities sector.
  • Strong theoretical understanding and practical knowledge of financial economics, corporate finance, and valuation methodologies.
  • Experience in financial analysis using core techniques and methodologies in corporate finance.
  • Understanding of scenario modeling and quantification of financial risk and impacts on financial viability.
  • Knowledge of key credit rating agency methodologies for utilities and typical capital structures and financing solutions in the sector.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
