About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our infection services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing expert clinical care to patients with infectious diseases and general internal medicine conditions
  • Leading and managing clinical teams to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Developing and implementing infection control policies and procedures
  • Contributing to the development of our infection services, including the design and delivery of clinical programs
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Basic medical degree
  • Postgraduate medical diploma (MRCP or equivalent)
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • CCT in Infectious Diseases or eligibility for acquiring the same within 6 months of the date of the AAC, or equivalent qualification from outside the EU (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
  • CCT in General Internal Medicine or eligibility for acquiring the same within 6 months of the date of the AAC, or equivalent qualification from outside the EU (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable Qualifications
  • Higher Degree
  • Qualification in Medical Education (Certificate, Diploma, Masters)
  • Current ALS certification
