Senior Consultant in Infectious Diseases and GiM

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Infectious Diseases and GiM to join our team at UHBW Trust. As a key member of our professorial unit, you will play a vital role in delivering an integrated Infection service, comprising:
- Ongoing Inpatient Care: Providing expert care to patients with infections, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Outpatient ID Services: Delivering high-quality outpatient services, including consultations and follow-up appointments, to patients with infectious diseases.
- Rapid Access Infectious Diseases (RAID) Clinic: Managing a busy RAID clinic, providing timely and effective care to patients with acute infectious diseases.
- Infection Consults: Offering expert advice and guidance to colleagues and other healthcare professionals on infection-related matters.
- Provision of Infection Advice: Providing infection advice to regionally affiliated NHS Trusts and local GPs as part of our Specialist Regional Infectious Diseases Centre (SRIDC) role.
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching: Contributing to the education and training of medical students and junior doctors, sharing your expertise and knowledge to ensure the next generation of healthcare professionals is equipped to tackle infectious diseases.
- Clinical Research: Participating in clinical research projects, contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies for infectious diseases.
Additional Responsibilities:
As a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and GiM, you will also provide weekend cover for the ID wards and endocrinology wards on a rotational basis. However, there will be no requirement for participation in the acute medical take, unless you wish to do so.
