Job Title: Senior Actuarial and Risk Management Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Actuarial and Risk Management Leader to join our team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our corporate actuarial, risk management, and compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the strategic vision for the Corporate Actuarial, Risk Management, and Compliance areas in support of the Group and Branch strategies and business objectives.
  • Risk Management: Scan the company's business environment to identify emerging risks, develop mitigating or monitoring actions, and take ownership for implementing these.
  • Team Leadership: Develop and maintain a high-performing team and talent pipeline with a depth of skills and experience to manage succession opportunities.
  • Actuarial Function: Ensure the function delivers the outputs and insights required by the business, including the production of technical provisions and reserves in accordance with relevant Group, regulatory, or statutory requirements.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Chair the Branch Risk Committee, oversee engagement with Group and the Branch's regulators on risk management and compliance topics, and ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the Risk Management and Compliance Functions.
  • Culture and Communication: Embed a positive risk management and compliance culture throughout the organization, ensuring the appropriate involvement of the Risk Management and Compliance Functions in projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams and delivering operational excellence.
  • Actuarial Expertise: Experience working within an actuarial function at a senior level in the UK (re)insurance market.
  • Commercial and Strategic Skills: Commercial and strategic individual with excellent networking skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Focuses on building and maintaining a positive team culture, embracing diversity of thought, ideas, and skills to engage the team and deliver objectives.
