Job Summary: As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing a warm and welcoming experience. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting customers, managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and providing administrative support to the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and Welcome Customers: Provide a friendly and professional welcome to customers as they arrive at the shop.
  • Manage Incoming Calls: Answer and direct phone calls in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring that customers receive the assistance they need.
  • Schedule Appointments: Manage the shop's calendar, scheduling appointments and ensuring that customers are seen in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a Clean and Organised Reception Area: Ensure that the reception area is clean, tidy, and well-organised, providing a positive first impression for customers.
  • Handle Customer Inquiries: Respond to customer inquiries and provide information about services, ensuring that customers are well-informed and satisfied.
  • Assist with Administrative Tasks: Provide administrative support to the wider team, including filing, data entry, and record keeping.
  • Coordinate with Mechanics and Other Staff: Work closely with mechanics and other staff to ensure efficient workflow and effective communication.
  • Process Payments and Manage Cash Register Transactions: Process payments and manage cash register transactions, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Utilise Your Knowledge of Cars: Use your knowledge of cars to assist customers with basic questions about their vehicle's issues and service needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education Level: GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cars: A good understanding of cars and automotive repair services is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and multitasking abilities are necessary.
  • Professional Demeanour: A friendly and professional demeanour is essential for providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required.
