About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Customer Service Engineer to join our team in Bedfordshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working on all aspects of our electrical and thermal equipment, including commissioning, maintenance, and repair. You will also be responsible for establishing, promoting, and maintaining Vertiv's reputation by building excellent rapport with our customers and stakeholders through all your professional interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake and complete successfully the Vertiv training programme
  • Assist Field Service Engineers/Technicians in service activities, including commissioning, maintenance, and repair of equipment
  • Provide a Commissioning, Maintenance and Repair service on all equipment supplied or maintained by Vertiv
  • Fault finding and rectification
  • Carry out contract maintenance and inspection on a planned basis to required standards
  • Identify opportunities for extra works and preventative recommendations
  • Remedial work to contract customers either as planned work or as a call out facility
  • Completion and submission of relevant reports to service administration within a timely manner following all site activity

Training and Development

This apprenticeship will allow you to work alongside our Engineers assisting in service activities, whilst completing a qualification to become a qualified UPS Field Service Engineer. This will enhance your understanding of the need for secure power/thermal cooling within the world of critical data centre infrastructure, benefitting from hands on experience in the workplace combined with innovative academic learning.

Future Prospects

On successful completion of your apprenticeship, a full-time placement within the company may be offered.
