In this role, you will engage with a variety of daily and weekly publications. Your responsibilities will encompass page layout, content editing, and the overall production needs of the print division, including managing flat plans as necessary.

We seek an individual with a solid background in page design, content editing, and proofreading, complemented by exceptional multitasking and time management abilities. You will collaborate closely with the Print Editor and are expected to foster positive relationships across various departments, including content teams, Newspaper Sales, Commercial, and Marketing.

Position Details

What will your responsibilities include?

You will be tasked with editing content to fit designated spaces and verifying facts to ensure accuracy consistently. Crafting compelling and appropriate headlines while adhering to Reach's branding and style guidelines will be essential.

You will adeptly manage evolving stories and updates, ensuring swift and precise content revisions. Additionally, you will ensure that all content complies with legal standards and meets IPSO guidelines and Reach's expectations. This role will require weekend work, necessitating a flexible approach.

Candidate Profile

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will be an experienced journalist with an NCTJ or equivalent qualification and a solid understanding of media law. You should possess extensive experience in journalism, particularly with national or large regional publications. A deep understanding of print news intricacies and a proven history of sub-editing for print media are essential.

You will have the acumen to determine when content requires editing and the capability to rewrite accurate copy efficiently. Crafting precise, impactful, and engaging headlines while consistently meeting Reach's high standards is crucial.
