Position Overview:

As our new Quality Assurance Specialist, you will possess knowledge of a diverse range of CNC machining methodologies including turning, drilling, and milling. This role is dynamic, requiring the use of various inspection tools such as VICIvision and CMM to evaluate rotors, shafts, and gearboxes. You will divide your time between assessing items in the inspection area and conducting live inspections within a manufacturing cell.

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for identifying non-conformances, ensuring that all non-compliant and at-risk products are securely quarantined.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and measure components in both the inspection area and production line.
  • Determine the status of goods on the line as appropriate, keeping the Quality Engineer updated with regular communications.
  • Document non-conformances on non-compliant products and ensure suitable containment measures are implemented.
  • Adapt to work in various areas as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for ongoing improvement within the work environment and processes.
  • Capable of interpreting engineering drawings, layouts, and related documentation with a high degree of proficiency.
Required Skills:
  • Proficient in first principle inspection techniques, GD&T, VICI Vision, shadow graphs, laser measurements, CMM, Hexagon arm, and PMI reporting.

    You will assess, inspect, and measure materials used within the pumps sector.
  • Skilled in utilizing a variety of testing and precision measuring instruments, including VICI vision, hexagon arm, and CMM.
  • Exhibit excellent judgment skills, determining whether to pass or refer products to the Quality Engineer and suggesting improvements where applicable.
Preferred Experience:
  • CNC machining expertise.
  • Familiarity with CMM inspection techniques.
  • Six Sigma yellow belt certification.
