Role Summary: The Principal UI Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in providing technical direction for TP ICAP's flagship Fusion platform. This individual will serve as the authority on standards and engineering best practices within their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a passion for software development and leverage technical and mentoring abilities to ensure the success of the development team.
  • Demonstrate expertise in modern UI Engineering utilizing React, Typescript, JavaScript, and Object-Oriented design principles.
  • Oversee the analysis and design phases for assigned projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Design, develop, test, and manage production software solutions, including complex systems and modifications to existing frameworks.
  • Utilize preferred planning and prioritization tools (e.g., JIRA) to track deliveries, identify issues, and assist with roadmap and iteration planning.
  • Ensure adherence to a well-defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) that supports planning, prioritization, and delivery needs.
  • Guide the team in defining project scope and estimating work based on prior experiences.
  • Lead the software team in delivering high-quality and innovative software solutions.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to motivate team members towards optimal performance and career growth through various methods, including code reviews and mentoring.

Change, Risk, and Issue Management:

  • Support the team in identifying and escalating risks appropriately.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders to provide time and resource estimates, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in prioritizing software defects and enhancements effectively.
  • Manage risks and issues with timely escalation to project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with HTML5, React 16/17+, Typescript 4/5+, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with UI Libraries such as Material UI or Ant Design.
  • Experience with CSS pre-processors like SASS and LESS.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and code quality tools such as Sonarqube.
  • Proficiency in Agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Experience with NX/Turbo repo or similar monorepo approaches, as well as Node.js.
